EXAM APPLICATION
If you prefer to mail an examination application to the NBE, please call our office at 919-861-5582 ext. 1219 to request an application. Along with the determination of a testing center region code, you will be required to submit the following documentation:
NOTE: Non-US Licensed Physicians applying for the ReASCE® examination must supply the following:
If your medical license does not have an expiration date, you are required to supply ONE of the following:

- An original letter from the Medical Council stating your license is permanent
- An original certificate of good standing; dated no more than 12 months prior to date application receive

LOCATION
The ReASCE is offered as a computer-based format multiple-choice examination through Prometric Testing Centers. Beginning in 2013 select testing centers outside the United States and Canada will also be available for the NBE examinations. Computer-based testing allows candidates to take his or her examination in the convenient testing center close to home saving time and money. Further, the centers offer privacy along with a quiet and comfortable environment to take the exam. Examination questions and visual images are easily viewable from the computer screen and are generally of higher quality when presented on a computer.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants for the 2013 ReASCE® must hold a current license to practice medicine at the time of application or equivalent documentation of permission to practice medicine in the country of principal resident.
AND
Have passed the ASEeXAM or ASCeXAM® from 1996 to 2004.
Non-US Licensed Physicians applying for the ReASCE® examination must supply the following:

All documentation must be supplied in English. If original documentation is not in English, a certified translation must be attached to each document.
NOTE: Only a copy of an applicant's current license to practice medicine, completed application, and the application fee is required to sit for the ReASCE examination.

RECERTIFICATION
Physician’s who previously passed the ReASCE® examination, use the conversion application in the 2011 ReASCE Certification Application to apply for board recertification.
For Physicians who participated in the 2012 ReASCE® examination, please refer to the 2011 Recertification Requirements and Application before applying for recertification.
The recertification application and supporting documents are not required to register for the examination and can be submitted at any time.
SUNSET CLAUSE
Due to the rapidly changing technology and advances in echocardiography, The National Board of Echocardiography® recommends physicians take this examination at least once every ten (10) years.
